Learn About The 2019 GMC Acadia
Four trim levels are offered with the 2019 GMC Acadia: the SL, SLE, SLT, and Denali. The SLE and SLT trims are further distinguished with SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1, and SLT-2. The base SL trim offers GMC’s Teen Driver system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7-inch touchscreen, tri-zone automatic climate control, a six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth®*, a Wi-Fi hotspot, 17-inch alloy wheels, OnStar communications, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, and more. The SLE-gains LED running lights, satellite radio, and rear floor mats. The SLE-2 provides remote engine start, roof rails, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, 18-inch wheels, and fog lights.
The SLT-1 trim adds an auto-dimming driver-side and rearview mirror, a household-style power outlet, power-adjustable front seats with lumbar adjustment, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, and leather upholstery. The SLT-2 receives 20-inch wheels, driver-seat memory functions, heated outboard middle-row seats, and more. The top trim – the Denali – comes with a heated steering wheel, an 8-inch touchscreen, xenon headlights, chrome roof rails, ventilated front seats, polished wheels, navigation, a hands-free lift-gate, and more.
The History of the GMC Acadia
The GMC Acadia made its debut in 2007 during the height of the crossover/SUV boom market in North America. It was the first GMC vehicle that hadn’t been built on a truck frame in quite some time and represented an important entry in the market for the automaker. To match consumer demand at the time, the Acadia was a large crossover that was capable of seating up to eight passengers. Standard interior equipment inside the Acadia was considered well above the norm for the time, and GMC continued this trend with the introduction of the high-end Acadia Denali model in 2001.
The Acadia sold well during this period and in 2013, GMC tweaked the front and rear styling on the vehicle. GMC also was among the forerunners in the technology “arms race” with Acadia, as they made a color touchscreen standard equipment on the vehicle in 2013.
For the 2017 model year, GMC launched a completely redesigned Acadia model into the North American market. Responding to the always evolving tastes of the motoring public, the 2017 Acadia was a lighter, smaller vehicle than its predecessor. This resulted in increased efficiencies on the vehicle across the board. GMC continued its commitment to equipping their vehicles with all the latest technology features, and the 2017 Acadia was notable for being one of the most tech heavy models ever released by the factory.
